Love, Visibility and Joy: Exmouth's First Ever March Pride Celebration

Exmouth made history this year with its very first Pride march — and what a beautiful day it was. We filled the sea side with colour, music, laughter and an overwhelming sense of community as folks came together to celebrate love, diversity and belonging.

There was so much joy, not only among those marching but also from the supporters lining the streets, cheering and waving as the parade passed by. One of the most emotional parts of the day was seeing the LGBTQIA+ community take up space in Exmouth. Crossing the streets together, stopping traffic and proudly marching through the town felt powerful and deeply moving. For a moment Exmouth paused to celebrate visibility, acceptance and love.

The festivities brought people together for a day packed with music, community and discovery. There was a wonderfully diverse programme, from the heartwarming Deaf Academy choir performance and the super cute dog show to thought-provoking stalls exploring topics such as the Queer History of Gym Culture. Organisations including Amnesty International, while children had the best time in the kids' area.

Everywhere you looked there was so much joy and fun!! A huge thank you goes to the incredible volunteers and organisers who made this day possible. Your hard work, dedication and passion created something truly special and gave Exmouth a Pride celebration to be proud of. Exmouth Pride wasn't just an event — it is a statement that LGBTQIA+ people are here, visible and part of this town.
