Why I Love Multicultural Weddings — A Documentary Wedding Photographer’s Perspective

As a wedding photographer based in Devon, originally from France and with roots that span Vietnam, China, India, and France, I’ve always been deeply drawn to stories that cross borders, cultures, and generations. My love for multicultural weddings isn’t just professional—it’s deeply personal.

Love Beyond Borders — My Family's Story

All four of my grandparents moved countries for love. They left their homelands, embraced new cultures, and built families that celebrated difference rather than feared it. My own life followed a similar path—moving from France to the UK for love, and now building a life here in the beautiful South West of the UK with my husband. These experiences have shaped the way I see the world and how I tell stories through my lens.

Multicultural weddings feel like home to me. They reflect a tapestry of traditions, languages, colours, emotions—and above all, love that transcends boundaries.

Why I’m Passionate About Photographing Multicultural Weddings

There’s a beautiful richness in multicultural weddings—tea ceremonies blending into handfastings, saris next to tuxedos, Danish tradition of cutting the tie and socks of the groom on the dancefloor paired with the Filipino custom of the groom removing the bride’s garter with his mouth - yes I have witnessed these amazing traditions!! The mix is magical, and it’s always real. These celebrations are full of heartfelt moments, unexpected interactions, and the blending of families and traditions in the most joyous way.

As a documentary wedding photographer, I don’t believe in staged smiles. My role is to capture your day as it truly unfolds: the way you love each other in everyday life, the way your loved ones interact with you, the way your cultures merge not just in rituals but in real, human connection.

A Global Approach to Love Stories

Though I’m based in Devon, I regularly travel for destination weddings around the world. Whether you’re planning a vineyard wedding in Provence, a boat ceremony in the Hạ Long Bay Vietnam, or a multicultural wedding in the heart of London, I’d be honoured to capture it.

My diverse background helps me move seamlessly between cultural nuances. I understand the importance of certain rituals and can anticipate key moments that others might miss. I’ve photographed weddings where multiple languages are spoken, where traditions are fused, and where love looks beautifully different—and that’s exactly what I love most.

Celebrating All Love Stories — Including LGBTQIA+ Weddings

Love comes in many forms, and I believe every story deserves to be told with the same care, warmth, and authenticity. I feel deeply honoured to document LGBTQIA+ weddings—whether you're planning an intimate elopement or a vibrant celebration of queer joy. My approach is always inclusive, respectful, and rooted in storytelling that reflects who you truly are. No stiff poses, just real emotion, real people, and the freedom to love out loud.

Real People, Real Emotions

If you’re looking for natural, documentary-style wedding photography that captures your wedding as it really is—not stiff or overly posed, but honest, raw, and full of life—then we might be the perfect fit.

I specialise in photographing the way your loved ones interact: laughter between members of both your families who just met for the first time, the quiet joy of a grandmother seeing you on the happiest day of your life, or the unspoken love bond between you. These are the moments that matter.

Some favourite memories: seeing German bridesmaids going around with a basket of the strongest German alcohols amongst guests and their priceless faces when drinking the dangerous beverages, documenting an American bride playing cricket in her wedding gown and scoring with her British husband looking madly in love with her, crying listening to a groom making a speech in his wife’s language after practicing it for many months…

Let’s Tell Your Story

I believe every love story is unique, and multicultural weddings are living proof of that. If you're planning a wedding that celebrates your cultures, your roots, and your real connection, I would love to hear from you.

Let’s create something meaningful together—photos that will remind you not just of what your wedding looked like, but how it felt.
